How to restore Windows MBR under Linux

If you have made dual boot Windows/Linux and if you have e.g. due to some reasons deleted your Linux partition you may not be able to mount your Windows partition as Grub bootloader is still being loaded. You will get a grub rescue prompt at the start.

To restore your Windows MBR under Linux do the following:

Boot Linux from the USB.
Connect to internet.
Open terminal: CTRL ALT T

Type the following commands:

sudo apt-get install syslinux
sudo dd if=/usr/lib/syslinux/mbr.bin of=/dev/sda
Put /dev/sda if this is the drive where you have your Windows partition.

Restart. Your Windows partition should boot normally.

Under Windows download and install Universal USB installer:

How to get rid of Unnamed contacts in People in Android based phones

If you have HTC or possibly some other Android based phone you may notice that in People where your contacts are stored a very large number of Unnamed contacts appear for no reason. They all come from Skype sync contacts and probably it is a bug in syncing the contacts with Skype.
You may want to :

Launch Skype
Login to your account
Go to Settings / Sync contacts
Change the setting to "Don't sync"
Then check Unnamed contacts to see if they are really gone.

However all the Skype synced contacts that you want to have in People will be gone as well. So change the setting back:
Launch Skype
Login to your account
Go to Settings / Sync contacts
Change the setting to "Sync all"

This should bring back only the existing Skype contacts into People, and the Unnamed contacts should be gone.
